Irit Schnabel Eliav
MA, CPsych Assoc (Supervised Practice)
Psychological Associate

I hold an M.A. in Clinical Psychology and currently practice as a Psychological Associate (Supervised Practice), registered with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario. I bring over 15 years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in a variety of therapeutic settings.

Sessions are offered in English and Hebrew.

                                       My Approach

My work is grounded in a psychodynamic, relationship-oriented approach. I see the therapeutic relationship as a meaningful space where emotional experiences, relational patterns, and inner conflicts can be explored with care and curiosity.

I offer both short-term and long-term therapy, and when helpful, I integrate cognitive-behavioral (CBT) techniques to support emotional regulation and day-to-day coping.

Who I Work With

I work with adults, adolescents, and children, and offer parent guidance when appropriate. My work is informed by a systemic perspective that considers the relational, family, and developmental contexts of each person’s life.

When needed, I collaborate thoughtfully with parents and other professionals involved in the client’s care, as part of an individualized treatment plan.

Areas of Focus

I support individuals and families experiencing:

  • Anxiety, stress, and emotional overwhelm

  • Depression and low mood

  • Self-esteem and identity concerns

  • Issues related to sexuality and sexual identity

  • Trauma, grief, and loss

  • Relationship and family difficulties

  • Life transitions and adjustment challenges

A Bit About My Journey

My clinical work has developed through years of practice across diverse settings, deepening my understanding of how early relationships and life experiences shape emotional and relational patterns.

Having personally experienced immigration and professional transition, I bring sensitivity to the emotional complexity of change, adaptation, and questions of identity and belonging.
