Angela Vascotto
MA, Child and Adolescent Psychology
Doctoral Intern
I am currently in the final year of my doctoral training in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology at the University of Guelph and provide services under the supervision of Dr. Cathryn Harris, Ph.D., C.Psych. My training has focused on supporting children, adolescents, young adults, and families across school, community, and private practice settings.
I strive to create a warm, supportive, and collaborative environment where young people feel understood and empowered, and where caregivers gain practical tools and confidence to support their child's growth and well-being. My approach is individualized, evidence-based, and grounded in the belief that lasting change occurs when strengths are recognized and nurtured.
My Approach
I believe that meaningful change begins with a strong therapeutic relationship. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where children, adolescents, and families feel heard and understood.
My work draws from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Family Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), attachment-based approaches, and family systems principles. Treatment is tailored to each child's unique strengths, needs, developmental stage, and goals.
I also recognize the important role that caregivers play in a child's well-being and regularly collaborate with parents to provide practical strategies and support that can be carried into everyday life.

A Bit About My Journey
